Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 30, 2026. We believe you should know what we do with your data, including the honest parts about advertising.

1. Information We Collect

When you use DROOL, we may collect information you provide directly, including your username, display name, email address, password, bio, profile photo, flag or country selection, dish photos, dish names, descriptions, ratings, comments, and messages you send through contact forms or support channels.

We may also automatically collect usage data, device information, log data, crash reports, performance data, diagnostic information, IP address, and general geographic location derived from IP address. We do not collect precise GPS location unless you explicitly grant permission.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use information to provide, operate, and improve DROOL; personalize your dish feed and recommendations; calculate and display Drool Points, ranks, and leaderboard standings; send notifications about ratings, comments, follows, and app activity; enforce our Terms and community guidelines; analyze usage patterns; communicate with you; and comply with legal obligations.

3. Advertising & Data Sharing

Important: DROOL may share or license aggregated, anonymized user data with advertising partners, food brands, and third-party companies.

We may share aggregated, anonymized data about food preferences, rating patterns, cuisine trends, general demographic ranges, geographic regions, device types, engagement metrics, and anonymized behavioral data used to help brands understand food trends and audience interests.

We do not share your name, email address, directly identifying information, precise location, GPS data, private messages, communications, or financial information without your explicit consent.

We currently do not display ads within DROOL. If we introduce advertising in the future, we will update this policy and notify users in advance. Sponsored or advertising content would be clearly labeled.

We may enter partnerships with food brands, restaurants, or related companies. Partners may receive aggregated trend data and analytics, but not your personal information unless you explicitly opt in to a specific program or promotion.

Under certain circumstances, we may sell aggregated, de-identified datasets to third parties including market research firms, food industry companies, or advertisers. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.

4. Third-Party Services

DROOL may use third-party services such as Supabase for database and authentication, Apple Sign In for authentication, and Apple App Store services for app distribution, purchases if applicable, and crash reporting. These services may collect or process information according to their own policies.

5. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Account data is retained until account deletion. Dish photos and posted content are deleted within 30 days of account deletion. Anonymized aggregated data may be retained indefinitely because it cannot be used to identify you. Log data and analytics are typically retained for 12 months. Some information may remain in backup systems for up to 90 days before complete deletion.

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information. California residents may also have the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. If personalized advertising is introduced, you will have the ability to opt out of interest-based advertising.

To exercise these rights, contact us at droolscore@gmail.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

DROOL is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission, database security policies, secure authentication, and access controls. No method of internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by email before the changes take effect where appropriate. Your continued use of DROOL after the effective date means you accept the revised policy.

10. Contact Us
